Further and Higher Education

Our work in Further and Higher Education gives students an insight into applied drama and theatre-in-education, focusing on creating theatre to engage young and resistant audiences. As well as devising theatre techniques and exercises, the workshop provides ideas and strategies for dealing with resistant audiences and engaging young people at risk.

A typical workshop might include:

  • Warm up
  • Group cohesion and team building exercises
  • Examples of short pieces of theatre enacted by the company
  • Devising exercises
  • Exploring strategies for engaging various audiences
  • Using basic applied drama techniques
  • Reflection and questions

  • Developing skills around performance and devising
  • Practicing basic applied drama methods
  • Using exercises and story to inspire and engage
  • Introduction to theatre-in-education/or theatre in prisons
  • Insight into a working small scale theatre company
